Market route
European engineers evaluate on documentation you have not written
German, Nordic and wider European buyers assess a new component supplier through documentation long before any commercial conversation. Most Taiwanese suppliers have the capability and not the documents.

What European buyers check
Systematically, and largely without contacting you.
- Compliance position, stated plainly. Which directives and standards apply, what you hold, what scope it covers, and what you do not hold. Ambiguity reads as risk.
- Documentation depth. Datasheets, application notes, test reports, reference designs. European engineers expect depth and treat its absence as a capability signal.
- Supply chain transparency. Increasingly asked for, increasingly audited, and rarely prepared for in advance.
- Long-term availability. Lifecycle and end-of-life policy, because designing you in is a multi-year commitment.
- A technical contact who answers. In European hours, understanding the part. This alone separates suppliers in a buyer's shortlist.
What gets built
Documentation-led, because that is what the market rewards.
A European positioning platform
Against the incumbent European and Japanese suppliers you are actually being compared with.
A documentation set
Datasheets, application notes, selection guides and reference material at the depth European engineers expect.
Compliance communication
What you hold and what it covers, stated so a buyer's quality team can assess it without a call.
A technical website
Structured around applications and selection, in English. Website design and build.
Search and distributor platform presence
Where European engineers actually select parts, which is frequently not your own site.
Named account and design-in programme
Because the universe is countable. Demand programmes.
Where the documentation comes from
Not from a writer. From your own application engineers, interviewed and recorded, converted into the material European buyers expect.
Forty minutes each produces a quarter of documentation, which is a considerably smaller ask than any content programme they have refused before.
The approval path gets agreed before the first interview, because in technical companies content programmes die in approval queues rather than in production.
Questions overseas teams ask
Do we need German language material?
For B2B electronics, English is generally sufficient and often preferred by engineers. German matters more for procurement documents and trade fair material than for technical content.
How important are European distributors?
Considerably, and the franchise versus independent decision depends on your volume and support needs. Signing a franchise agreement with volume commitments before you have European demand evidence is a common and expensive error.
What about compliance?
Handled by qualified specialists. I make sure what we publish matches what compliance supports, and that the position is communicated clearly rather than buried.
Is Europe worth it against Southeast Asia?
Different economics. Europe is slower, more documentation-heavy and stickier once won. Southeast Asia is faster and less durable. Most Taiwanese manufacturers should do both and sequence deliberately.
Send me a datasheet
One datasheet in English. I will tell you what a German design engineer would still need to ask, which is usually the gap.
