I help manufacturers explain their value as clearly as they engineer it

Chakan, Bhosari, Talegaon, Ranjangaon, Pirangut. Companies with genuine capability, a customer list built on relationships, and nothing written down that a stranger could evaluate.

Positioning, and it comes first

A Bhosari machining company with thirty years of history typically has excellent process capability, a customer list built entirely on relationships, and no written statement of what it does better than the shop two streets away. The founder or the son knows the answer and has never had to write it down.

That works until the customer's purchase team changes, or an OEM consolidates its vendor base, or a younger competitor with a decent website starts appearing in the search a buyer runs before shortlisting.

Then the company discovers that thirty years of capability is documented nowhere. Vendor registration portals ask for exactly this and the answers get typed in from memory, differently each time.

Manufacturer · recruitment and brand

The employer brand that began on the shop floor

The brief

A manufacturer struggling to attract engineers, competing for the same graduates as IT services companies twenty kilometres away.

What we found

Recruitment communication consisted of vacancies posted on job portals, describing a diploma and two years of experience. Nothing described the work, the team or the first six months.

What we built

Interviews with apprentices, women working in production, application engineers and employees who had grown into leadership. Their accounts became recruitment content, induction material and internal communication.

What changed

Candidates began seeing a workplace rather than a vacancy, and induction got shorter because the same material did both jobs.

In this belt the recruitment problem is often sharper than the sales problem, and almost nobody treats it as marketing work.

What tends to move things here

01

Write the capability statement properly

Machines with make and model. Tolerances held, not tolerances claimed. Inspection equipment, certifications with scope, materials, batch sizes, turnaround. One document doing more work than any campaign.

02

Photograph the plant honestly

Clean, well lit, real. A stock photo of a generic CNC tells a buyer nothing about you and quietly costs credibility.

03

Build the vendor registration pack once

Every OEM asks similar questions. One maintained source prevents the drift that costs approvals.

04

Turn your best job into an application story

The difficult component you made when nobody else would quote. Segment development starts here.

05

Give the next generation something to sell

The son or daughter who has joined usually understands the market better than they can articulate the company. Positioning work is often really succession work.

06

Fix the channel

If you sell through distributors, they are probably telling five different versions. Channel communication.

Before you ask

We are a job shop. Is branding relevant?

Positioning is. Branding in the logo sense usually is not, at least not first. A job shop competes on capability, reliability and responsiveness, none of which are visible until someone has already worked with you. Documenting them is the job.

Most of our work comes from two customers.

That is the real risk and worth naming. At that concentration the marketing question is diversification rather than growth, and the work looks different: finding adjacent applications for capability you already have.

Do you visit plants in Chakan and Ranjangaon?

Yes, and that is how these engagements start. Bavdhan to Chakan is under an hour outside peak. You cannot position a manufacturing business from a conference room.

Is a consultant affordable for an MSME?

A focused project fixing the capability documentation, the sales presentation and the website is within reach for most established MSMEs in the belt. A fractional retainer usually is not until you are larger, and I will say so rather than stretch a scope to fit.

Send me your capability statement

Or tell me you do not have one, which is the more common answer. Either way I can tell you in a short call whether the gap is documentation, positioning or something else entirely.
