Visitor flow for exhibition booths
Most booths leak visitors at the aisle. Good visitor flow is the difference between footfall and conversations.
Flow is a design decision, not an accident. Here's how to think about it.
The three-second hook
A passer-by decides in seconds whether to stop. Give them one clear, visible reason - a hero product, a live demo, a bold message.
The path in
Once they stop, lead them somewhere. An open, obvious path beats a wall of furniture. Keep sightlines from the aisle to your hero.
Dwell points
Place reasons to linger - a demo, a screen, a touchable product - where you want people to gather.
The conversation moment
Make it easy to step from looking to talking, with a clear reception and a place to sit.
The capture moment
Design where and how cards get scanned, so no conversation ends without a captured lead.
Don't trap your visitors
Leave roughly a third of the stand as circulation so it never jams.
Good to know
Frequently asked questions
How much space should be circulation?
Aim for around a third - enough that visitors can move and linger without the stand feeling crowded or blocked.
Capture & pipeline
A booth is only worth what you do with the leads.
The most expensive mistake at any show is a stack of visiting cards that never gets worked. We design the capture into the stand.
Visiting card to worked pipeline, without the spreadsheet graveyard
Design the booth. Capture the visitor. Move the deal.
Quiamo builds the booth as a temporary sales environment - positioning, flow and storytelling working together.
CardToDeal turns every visiting card into a structured lead record at the stand - no manual typing.
VynDeal moves each lead into a pipeline with follow-up rhythm, quotes and opportunity tracking.
